Declaration of Alicia
by Alicia B.
I declare independence from having an AGGRESSIVE personality. The negativity and rudeness needs to stop now! No more dissing people on their style or image!
With kindness in my heart, I must think positive.
With sweetness, I compliment everyone I see.
With purity in mind, I apologize to the ones I hurt.
I need to find the better person in me.
I need to socialize with the littlest to biggest people.
The warm smile on my face should bring comfort.
The warm smile on my face should be sweet and caring.
Due to my turnabout, people will start to like me more.
Due to my change, people will socialize with me more.
Finally, due to my kindness of heart, I will get more friends!
The aggression will die, so I can become a better person! The aggression will die so I can become a better person!!! These words are my words I will keep, and always remember them!
Letter from Richard
Dear Knights of Columbus Council 11999,
Thank you for sending me to St. Joseph’s Youth Camp. I made a lot of friends. By the time I left I felt that I had known them forever. The counselors and staff are really nice. We had campfires and sang a lot of songs.
We went kayaking and built our own shelter. We went on a scavenger hunt. We talked about the Spirit and Jesus. The next time I would like to go to CIT week, Counselors-in-Training. I want to be a leader at camp.
The camp made a difference in my life. It showed me that we can do things and take more responsibilities. Before I went I didn’t think about those things.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR GIVING ME THE CAMP SCHOLARSHIP!!!!!
Sincerely,
Richard
Rest in Peace
MOM
by Eulalia Tavena Casias
Now that you left me, who can I talk to?
When you left I couldn’t tell you how I felt.
But now you’ve been gone for 8 years and
Now without you I don’t know where I’m going to end up.
You made people happy;
You gave them a reason to wakeup every morning
When they look at me all they see is your smile and your beauty.
You left me, my brother, and sisters with no mother.
The last time I saw you, all I saw was your body lying in a coffin.
Why did you leave if everyone liked you?
Guess good ones go first, huh?
You gave six children lives and they look as beautiful as you.
You had people love you for you.
You had best friends and now I call them Tías.
You left a good memory with us and now everyone tells
Your stories of your beautiful remembrance of you.
It hurts to know that you are now 6 feet underground,
Then you here in my arms.
At the Guadalupe cemetery in Arizona is where you lay.
It hurts to know that you left me right before my fifth birthday.
And it’s hard to tell you I love you when
I’m standing over your grave.
You were a great sister, mother, aunt and now a grandmother,
But you’ll always be in my heart.
Mommy, we will meet in a better place than we last saw each other.
REST IN PEACE, MOM.

A Promise
by E. Casias
Tears are the words my heart uses
when even my fake smiles
can’t cover up the pain.
I’ll always be beside you
Until the very end.
Wiping all your tears away
Being your best friend.
I’ll smile when you smile,
And feel all the pain you do
I promise I’ll cry with you too.
I love you and I will always be
Here for you, no matter how far
You may be or how close.
Just call my name and I’ll be there!
That’s a promise from me to you!
"The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person doing it."
